Torshavn Faroe Islands

The Faroe Islands lies north west of Scotland and halfway between Iceland and Norway in the Gulf Stream in the North Atlantic. They consist of 18 Islands 17 which are inhabited. The capital is Torshavn where we are today there are about 20000 people here.
We took a coastal towns drive to a place called Saksin which Is a village on the northern part of the island. We went through a tunnel 4.5 km long which was an experience. There are no trees here it is the remnants of a huge volcano and there is a massive ridge at the top. There are many waterfalls with water tumbling everywhere. The place is extremely green and there are lot of different coloured sheep everywhere. many of the houses and churches are covered in grass and are quite unique. The weather has been extremely cold and wet, the sea has been quite large but we are not experiencing any uncomfortable cruising. We are now on our way to Reykjavik in Iceland.
