Another cold windy day but as we wanted to see "Titanic Belfast" exhibition we braved the cold and got a taxi there. It was being built last time we were here so needed to see what they had done. It was a great exhibition.Halls of photos of how it was started 100 years ago and why Belfast was the perfect location to build the biggest ship in the world.
Then we took a ride and flew through the busy shipyard experiencing all the sights, smells and sounds. Then launch time, bought to life by innovative glazing we saw Titanic as she would have looked, sitting on the slipways waiting to hit the water for the first time. Rooms fitted out, the crockery they used etc.
Stories of the crew and passengers as they set sail for America. Then of course when they hit the iceberg and the world's reaction.
A journey to the bottom of the ocean where it was discovered in 1985 and what was found. Tragic accident. Were there nearly 3 hours.
Caught a bus to the City centre and wandered around, bitterly cold. Bought myself a pretty raincoat and needed it as we stepped out of the store.
By this time was lunch time so found a 1636 year old pub and had sausages and mash with a Guinness . Lovely. When we came out of the pub the sun was out, nice, so walked back to where the courtesy bus was and came back to ship.
A real experience to see that exhibition and a great day for both if us.
