The island is just 1.2 miles long. The best way to get an idea of the size and density of the buildings is to google it and see the images. It is quite amazing.
We did a walking tour of the town, it was very hot and humid and uncomfortable.
Male' is the Commercial Centre of the Maldives, most of the Resorts that you read about are scattered throughout the Archipelago. The airport is close to Male' and passengers are then ferried to the different resorts.

Look at the lovely colour of the water, this is a typical tourist boat that takes them to the resort islands.

And of course another fish market that we love visiting.
The locals buy their fish usually still live and these men then scale fillet them and off the customer goes.
This is a Mosque built from coral, a little different.
Note the headstones, the round tops are those of women, the ones with a piece at the top are those of men and the size indicates the age of the person. The small ones are children

This a memorial for those lost in a terrorist attack in 1988.
It was a nice visit but we think a resort may have a little more appeal.
